Hockney’s Shoes

Back in 2019 I wrote a short piece for the Oriente Saxophone Quartet, who are based in Chile. I’ve known two of the members, Alejandro and Karim, for many years, and they’ve played my music before. The piece is called ‘Hockney’s Shoes’, and it came into my mind after visiting an exhibition of portraits by David Hockney at the Royal Academy of Art. The pandemic ruined all performance plans, but it’s great news to hear that it will be played for the first time next Tuesday, in Santiago!
