This Royal College of Music saxophone ensemble concert was originally cancelled due to the pandemic, and it finally took place last summer in front of a tiny audience. It’s now available on the RCM Youtube channel. There are a range of pieces here including my ‘Symphony Cocteau’ for sax quartet and piano (starts at 22.00). This was the UK premiere of a piece that had its first performance in the US. I think the sax quartet and piano is a fantastic combination, although with very little repertoire (is this the longest piece ever written for these instruments?!). Much thanks to the players, and to Kyle Horch for coaching the ensemble!
